The Mathematics curriculum is designed to provide an opportunity for the student to be involved in a program in which he or she is challenged and in which he or she can experience success. The principal goals of mathematics instruction are that each individual will be able to recognize a problem, analyze it, and seek a logical solution. Through a sequence of mathematical experiences, the student should learn the fundamentals of arithmetic and reasoning, while also appreciating the contributions of mathematics to our society.
