REQUIREMENTS

 

Non-Tenured Personnel

 

A minimum of three Interim Evaluation Reports (written evaluation of one class) completed by:

 

              March

 

One Annual Evaluation Report completed by:

 

                                                            May

 

One Professional Development Plan by September 30th of the following year.

 

Tenured Personnel

 

Two Interim Evaluation Reports completed by:

 

             

              May

 

One Annual Evaluation Report completed by:

 

                                                            May

 

One Professional Development Plan by September 30th of the following year.

 

Procedures

 

1.              An Interim Evaluation Report must be based on a minimum of one full class period or the equivalent.

 

2.              Prior to the completion (signatures and report filed) of the report, a conference must be held within five days of the observation of the class.

 

3.              The written report must be given to the evaluatee within five days of the conference for either the Annual Evaluation or the Interim Report.

 

4.              Addendums should be filed within ten days.

 

5.              Extenuating circumstances waiving such procedural requirements will be made only by the Superintendent.

 

6.              Mid Year Assessment Conference may be held between the Superintendent and the Department Chairperson/Administrators to discuss, among other things, Evaluation and Developmental Supervision.  This conference will take place between February 1st and February 15th.  A conference between chair people and teachers without a written document should take place prior to that day and focus on Instructional Effectiveness, Professional Attitudes and Responsibilities and other relevant information.

 

 

 

FORMAL EVALUATION PROCESS

 

            As a result of an "Evaluation Form – Faculty Survey", interpretation and recommendations by an ASSESSMENT Committee, and approved by Mr. Bolcar , Superintendent of Schools, the following will serve as guidelines:

 

TENURED TEACHERS – A minimum of two formal evaluations will be conducted on each tenured teacher.  (The maximum number which may be conducted is up to the discretion of the supervisor and/or the administration).

 

Standard Evaluation Form shall be "NARRATIVE" or "FOCUSED".  (In the event that a consensus cannot be achieved by the teacher and the supervisor, the supervisor shall select the form).

 

Specialized Evaluation Forms

"TEAM EVALUATION" – The teacher or supervisor may select this option.  This meets the minimum requirement.

 

            . . . . . . . In addition to meeting the minimum requirement, the following may be

considered:

 

�PROJECT� EVALUATION (resulting in program improvement)

�INTERDEPARTMENTAL� EVALUATION.  A teacher may request that a supervisor other than his/her own, conduct an evaluation.  (Logic: a fresh perspective, perhaps new ideas).

 

NON-TENURED TEACHERS - A minimum of three (3) formal evaluations will be conducted on

each non-tenured teacher.  (The maximum number which may be conducted is up to the discretion of the supervisor and/or the administration).

 

NOTE:           A teacher may request to observe another teacher.  The department supervisor will

coordinate w\the logistics, with the approval of all parties involved.  (This �teacher

observing teacher� approach is encouraged by the administrative).
