Internet Accptable Use Policy

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE SIGNING CONSENT FORM




     The purpose of accesing the Interent is to support research and education in and among academic institutions and other pertinent sources. Use must be in support of education and research and consistent with the educational objectives of Wallkill Valley Regional High School.

Terms and Conditions of Use

  1. All use of the internet must be in support of education and research and consistent with the purposes of Wallkill Valley Regional High School.

  2. Use of other organization's network or computing resources must comply with the rules appropriate for that network.

  3. Transmission of any material in violation of any federal or state regulation is prohibited.This includes, but is not limited to, transmission of copyrighted material, threatening or obscene material, or material protected by trade secret.

  4. Use of the network for commericial or for-profit purposes is prohibited.

  5. Use of the network for personal and private business is prohibited.

  6. Use of the network for product advertisement or polictical lobbying is prohibited.

  7. Network accounts are to be used only bythe authorized owner of the account for the authorized purpose.

  8. Users shall not intentionally seek information on,obtain copies of,or modify files,or other data,or passwords belonging to other users,or misrepresent other uses on the network.

  9. All communications and information accessible via the network should be assumed to be privae property.

  10. No use of the network such as developing programs that harass other users,infiltrating a computer or computing system,or damaging the software components of a computer or computing system is prohibited.

  11. Hate mail,harressment,discriminatory remarks,and otehr antisocial behaviors on the network.

  12. The illegal installation of copyrighted software for use on district computers is prohibited.

  13. Use of the network or acces or process pornographic material,inappropriate text files,or files dangerous to the integrity of the local area network is prohibited.

  14. Personal information regarding users may not be provided across the internet.



Student Agreement Form


I have read, understand and will abide by the Internet"Terms and Conditions of Use " for Wallkill Valley Regional High School. I understand taht any violation of the regulations is unethical and constitues an offense. If I commit any violation,my access priviliges will be revoked for the remainder of the school year and school disciplinary action and/or appropriate legal action will be taken.

I have read the Internet "Terms and Conditions of Use" for Wallkill Valley Reg. H.S. I understand that this access is designed for educational purposes and that Wallkill Valley Reg. H.S. has taken appropriate steps to prevent access to threatening or obscene material. I also recognize,however,that it is impossible for Wallkill Valley Reg.H.S. to restrict access to all controverisal materials,and I will not hold the school responsible for materials acquired on the network.

Further, I understand that the improper or inappropriate use of the network by my child will result in loss of use privilieges, as well as school discipline and/or criminal and civil penalties.I accept full responsibily for supervision if and when my child my child's use is not in a school setting.Further, I accept responibility for any damages or injuries caused by my child's use of the network,either in school or outside the school. With this understanding, I hereby give permission to issue electronic network access for my child and certify that the information on this form is correct.I understand that if i have any additional questions, I can contact the school for clarification.
