AGREEMENT BETWEEN

BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR/BOARD
SECRETARY
This
agreement covers conditions specified for the one year period effective July 1,
2010 through June 30, 2011.
ARTICLE I – LEAVES OF ABSENCE
A. ABSENCE
FOR PERSONAL ILLNESS
1. Absence
for personal illness shall be allowed and shall include full
pay not to exceed twelve (12) days in one
year. If fewer than twelve (12)
days of allowed sick leave are taken in any
year, then the number of days
not utilized shall be accumulated without limit.
2. In
case of illness incurred during the school day which results in the
employee leaving school before 11:00 a.m. a
full day will be charged; if
after 11:00 a.m. one-half day will be
charged.
3. Upon
retirement, unused sick leave will be reimbursed at a rate of
$45 per day for each unused sick leave day
accumulated to the day
of retirement not to exceed $15,000 per NJSA
18A:30-3.5. Retirement
shall mean the employee has filed the
necessary papers to effect same
with the TeachersÕ Pension and Annuity Fund
(TPAF).
4. Upon
retirement, unused vacation days will be paid at the
employeeÕs per diem rate then in effect,
calculated at 1/260th of the
annual salary. Carryover of unused vacation days from previous years is
not permitted.
B. PERSONAL
AND EMERGENCY DAYS
Personnel Days will be designated as
Personal/Emergency Days with Emergency Days not requiring prior notice. Four (4) Personal Days and two (2)
Emergency Days will be granted per year.
In the event that Personal and Emergency Days are not used in any given
year, the number of days not used will be accumulated as sick leave.

C. ABSENCE FOR DEATH IN
IMMEDIATE FAMILY
1. Absence
due to death in the employeeÕs immediate family or household shall be allowed
with pay for the required period not to exceed five (5) school days. The term Òimmediate familyÓ shall
include wife, husband, children, grandchildren, mother, father, mother-in-law,
father-in-law, brother, sister, brother-in-law and sister-in-law.
2. Two
days with full pay shall be allowed in the event of death of a grandparent and
one day with full pay shall be allowed in the event of the death of other
non-immediate member of the family.
D. ABSENCE
FOR JURY DUTY
Employees will be granted time off to serve
on Jury Duty without being penalized.
They will receive full pay and time spent on Jury Duty will not be
charged against personal leave and will count as time on the job. An employee called for Jury Duty shall
report same to the Superintendent and while on Jury Duty, will report their
schedule for the following days.
E. EXTENDED
ABSENCES
All extended absences and other absences not
otherwise specifically covered herein shall be considered only after
application thereof to the Board of Education.
ARTICLE II – INSURANCE
A
board-paid family plan for the following will be provided:
1. Hospitalization/Major
Medical Health Plan
2. Dental
Plan
3. Prescription
Plan
4. Vision
Plan
Employees
covered under this Agreement will be provided the same insurance benefits as are
provided for all certificated employees of the district.
ARTICLE III – VACATION
Vacations
may be taken at any time during the period July 1 through June
30
upon approval of the Superintendent.

Vacation shall be earned as follows:
After
1 full yearÕs service 10

ARTICLE IV – HOLIDAYS
A. Employees
shall receive seven fixed holidays with pay as follows:

Day
4. Labor
Day
B. In
addition, employees shall receive four (4) days from the following list.
These
days shall be approved by the Superintendent.

ARTICLE V – OTHER
During Spring, Winter, and Christmas Breaks,
NJEA Convention and all other days when school is not in session, employee is
not required to report as long as the board office is covered by one other
person from the board office.
ARTICLE VI – TUITION REIMBURSEMENT
Tuition reimbursement shall be paid upon the
completion of job-related college courses with a grade of B or better, not to
exceed 9 credits per year. Other
job-related workshops and seminars, subject to prior approval by the Superintendent
and/or the Board of Education may be taken for which reimbursement will be
made.
ARTICLE VII – SALARY
The salary of the Business
Administrator/Board Secretary shall be $91,503 for the period July 1, 2010
through June 30, 2011.

ARTICLE VIII – TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT
Travel reimbursement shall be paid at the
State OMB Circular rate in effect at the time of travel.
ARTICLE IX – MISCELLANEOUS
A. The
Business Administrator/Board Secretary reserves the right to seek an amendment
to the existing contract to incorporate provisions that were modified as a
result of the July 2008 Accountability Regulations and/or related directives
from the office of Executive County Superintendent (ECS), following any legal
action and that permits or requires same.
Any such amendment to the contract, along with a copy of the approved
contract, shall be reviewed by the ECS pursuant to NJAC 6A:23A3.1, prior to the
required public hearing.
B. For
purposes of the requirement to contribute 1.5% of an employeeÕs salary toward
health benefits, the Business Administrator/Board Secretary will
be aligned with the
contract of the AdministratorsÕ Association.
